Guest blogging guidelines

The BlueSky PR blog provides useful and relevant content to the higher and business education industries on PR and marketing related topics.  The best way to understand the sort of material we publish is to read some of our recent blog posts.

Our audience are University and Business School Deans, Directors and Communications teams.

We accept blogs posts from non-competitors with knowledge and insights relevant to the higher and business education industries.

All content should answer a question appropriate to our audience or provide them with insight into recent relevant research.

All posts must be original content which is specifically written for our blog and should be a minimum of 700 words.  We aim to be casual but helpful and we welcome content with a clear voice – be informal, interesting and human.  Types of content accepted:

  • How to articles
  • Recent industry research
  • Opinion pieces
  • Compelling, supported arguments

Please include subheadings throughout your post and please clearly cite any sources for research or quoted text.

Types of content we do not accept:

  • Press releases
  • Syndicated or unoriginal content
  • Overly promotional content
  • Anything that may be construed as a link building scheme
  • Anything that is offensive or inaccurate
  • Anything that’s overly critical of individuals or companies – this is not the place to air grievances

All posts will include an author profile at the bottom so please provide a headshot along with a brief bio.

You may include one back link to your site within the body of the text.  Where no backlink is included in the body, one will be included with the author bio.  We do not accept referral/affiliate links.

We will provide a featured image for the blog post bases on content.  If you provide any specific or additional images please cite the image source and licencing basis.

If your article meets our editorial standards and aligns with our content strategy, we will respond to let you know when your article will be published. That process may take up to 2 weeks.

The BlueSky PR team reserves the right to edit and adapt your guest blog content as we see fit, and update it in the future for accuracy and comprehensiveness.

BlueSky PR reserves the right to include calls-to-action to our content, including but not limited to email newsletters, ebooks, and other downloadable content.

We cannot allow you to republish your guest post to your own blog, LinkedIn, etc. as duplicate content is bad for SEO and we don’t want to upset Google but please feel free to share your post and any other BlueSky content via social media or email.  We’ll love you for it and re-share if you tag us in.  You are also welcome to reference this post and include a link to it as part of another post on your blog.
