The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) is a trade association representing recruitment firms which place staff in the professional sectors. With operations in the UK, Germany, Singapore and Australia, the trade body has a wide range of audiences and stakeholders which calls for a robust yet flexible communications strategy in order to both promote planned initiatives and react in a timely fashion to economic and legislative developments.
PR activity is specifically focused on driving member acquisition by increasing non-member and stakeholder awareness, improving member engagement and promoting the APSCo brand. We respond rapidly to government announcements to support APSCo’s lobbying activity and proactively secure and place thought leadership op-eds in key media on issues ranging from diversity and inclusivity through to the implications of employment and tax related legislation on the flexible workforce. We also develop and implement campaigns around key initiatives such as APSCo’s monthly professional recruitment trends report; its annual benchmarking survey in conjunction with Deloitte, its undergraduate intern scheme and its international operations. BlueSky also set up. and continues to manage, the APSCo press office Twitter account which has significantly increased member and media engagement.
We regularly achieve 50+ media mentions per month including top tier media such as The Daily Telegraph and City AM; key regionals including the Yorkshire Post, The Manchester Evening News, and The Scottish Daily Mail, as well as key recruitment, HR and sector trade titles. The PR activity has been directly attributed by the Executive Board to APSCo’s growth in membership. Journalists now see APSCo has a credible source for commentary on the professional jobs market and we regularly receive requests for contributions.
